The large cap market continued its rally during the holiday-shortened week, with the S&P 500 gaining 1.8%, the Nasdaq up 2.1%, and the Dow adding 2.0% to reach another record high.

It was a mixed week for the Major Markets, with the Large Cap Indices looking worse than the broader market actually performed.

The Nasdaq rose 2.4%, the S&P 500 gained 0.9%, and the Dow added 0.7%. Again, small cap blend outpaced Large Cap blend as the Russell 2000 climbed 1.2%, with both the Dow and Russell reaching record highs.

The VIX, often called the “Fear Gauge”, spiked higher back on June 5th, as the S&P 500 broke its consecutive weekly winning streak.

The Nasdaq gained 4.4% and the Dow rose 3.0% as optimism around a potential de-escalation in the U.S.-Iran conflict lifted sentiment… at least temporarily.
